Information for courses in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechatronics
The two Hybrid texts as well as the Fundamentals of Electricity texts are free to use. The courses listed on this website use other free books as well. The books from James Fiore are very good. The course EET 3050 uses a text written using the Malvino text as a model. This course is taught as a course for non-majors in various Technology fields. The Hybrid Text and Hybrid Lab Text have no other text as a model. They use the factory as the model. The PLC is a tool in this scenario, being used to solve problems, some simple, some complex.
The Hybrid Text is a text for the study of automation using primarily the PLC – Hybrid was the name selected due to the decision to teach Allen-Bradley and Siemens together. The Hybrid Lab Text is a support text giving further explanations of many of the labs discussed in the Hybrid Text.
The videos are lectures explaining the content of the Hybrid Text and problems at the end of the chapters. Also included are solutions or partial solutions to the labs. Some of the later labs are demonstrated.
